The Ashden Trust is a grant-making charity established in 1989 and is one of the Sainsbury Family Charitable Trusts. We primarily support programmes focusing on climate change, sustainable development, or improving the quality of life in poorer communities.

Ashden Sustainable Solutions, Better Lives

Ashden promotes universal access to sustainable energy in the UK and the developing world. Through the Ashden Awards, it champions some of the world’s best green practitioners then helps them accelerate their work through its support programmes. Ashden advocates on behalf of Ashden Award winners to inspire the wider take-up of clean technologies and alternative business models that make them affordable to all.
