The Ashden Trust is a grant-making charity focusing on climate change, sustainable development and improving the quality of life in poorer communities.
In order to make lasting changes in the UK and internationally we make small grants (typically between £1,000 - £20,000) to organisations with a track record of delivering innovative and effective projects. We believe that the trust and its beneficiaries have contributed to the recognition of the environmental costs of aviation, to the understanding and uptake of organics, to the broad acceptance of the benefits of sustainable regeneration and have enabled great numbers of individuals to participate effectively in developing their communities and environments.
The trust’s long-term focus on climate change, sustainable development and improving the quality of life in poorer communities allows us to explore a range of ways to tackle these enormous challenges under six category headings:
- Environmental Projects Overseas
- Environmental Projects UK
- Sustainable Regeneration
- People at Risk
- Community Arts
- Social Investment Fund

You can learn more about the work that the trust has supported in 2004/2005 by viewing the projects under each of these category headings. If you would like to know more about the trust’s earlier work please view the archived projects under project search.
We hope that this website will allow you to learn more about the impressive work and achievements of these, often very small, organisations. Our aim is to illustrate how their experience and expertise can inform and inspire the work of others.
